Mill Creek Residential seeks a Portfolio Accountant whose primary responsibility is to provide timely and accurate accounting information to both internal and external customers by preparing monthly financial statements while incorporating accounts receivable, accounts payable and journal entries.  The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor’s degree and CPA with 3+ years of full cycle joint venture and fair value accounting experience in the multi-family industry using Yardi and/or Entrata systems.  The Company offers competitive pay and benefits.



This position includes:

  • Monthly financial statement preparation, which includes analysis of financial information in order to prepare and post appropriate journal entries and provide proper review for accuracy.  This is done by working closely with the operations, asset management, and other departments to provide an accurate financial story for each joint venture.
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations for all legal entities.
  • Responsible for cash management for assigned portfolio including various funding requests, wires, and distributions and prepares monthly cash analysis statements.
  • Prepare monthly joint venture financial packages for partners.
  • Assists with year-end audit by pulling support and answering questions to ensure that all reporting deadlines are met
  • Communicates with internal and external stakeholders to answer questions, provide support and ensure timely completion of all assigned duties
  • Perform other tasks assigned as necessary


Qualifications for consideration:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three (3) years of residential property management accounting experience required.
  • Strong Excel skills including vlookups and pivot tables.
  • Experience in a wide variety of accounting software systems, preferably in Yardi and/or Entrata.
