The Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator/Instructional Designer is responsible for the administrative and end user support of Mill Creek Residential’s Workday learning management System (WDL) along with developing eLearning courseware to be consumed by company associates via the LMS. This role provides ongoing systems support, systems strategy support, and content development to help ensure optimal WDL performance and appropriate content in service of the company’s learning and business operations goals. Administrative and end user support duties will be executed in coordination with the Human Resources Manager (system super user) and the Vice President, National Training. Instructional Designer duties will be executed in coordination with the Vice President, National Training.



Essential Functions/Responsibilities- LMS Administrator

  • Provide WDL functional and technical support including system administration and troubleshooting.
  • Develop, test and implement new custom reports for end users for WDL. Periodically audit existing reports and manage the inventory of WDL reports.
  • Develop custom audience reports within the WDL platform (Campaign custom audience reports) to ensure training is assigned to the appropriate associates.
  • Review bi-annual major product releases and periodic service updates for items related to WDL. Work with the HR super user and the VP to determine deployment, conduct user acceptance testing, and create appropriate documentation.
  • Develop and maintain user guides and job aids for end users and as well as system administrators and instructors.
  • Ensure online courses are correctly set-up within the system. Support other LMS administrators and the Instructional Designer with testing content.
  • Coordinate with Learning Instructors to enter monthly webinar offerings in WDL and manage post-session attendance as needed.
  • Resolve help desk user questions and issues through an online ticketing system.
  • Stay abreast of WDL user-generated solutions and proposed enhancements by monitoring and participating in Workday Community.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President, National Training.


Essential Functions/Responsibilities- Instructional Designer

  • Assist or coordinate needs assessments by interfacing with internal teams and Subject Matter Experts to identify training needs.
  • Design and develop learning courses and training materials that are engaging, activity-based, and results-oriented.
  • Develop recommendations for instructional and/or performance strategies.
  • Develop course outlines for various delivery methods.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to ensure accuracy of material.
  • Manage and coordinate projects and training activities to completion.
  • Assist in assessing the quality and adoption of training material.
  • Design appropriate interactivity for the courseware and delivery method.
  • Review and revise training materials created by others.
  • Research developments in the training industry including presentation aids, equipment, presentation techniques, adult learning methodology and related topics.




Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
