The Database Developer will be responsible for reporting and data visualization, integrations, and general data management.  We utilize Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS) for our custom reporting but also have multiple other reporting mechanisms offered in other applications used by our company as our overall reporting suite.  Pulling data out of source systems using whatever technology that they provide is a responsibility of this role.  The database developer should be capable of utilizing all flavors of SQL to include oracle, mssql, mysql, and postgresql; being capable of getting data via API calls, and parsing JSON/XML are capabilities this person would need to have as well.  Ability to build out database schemas is a requirement as is understanding the ETL process and common best practices to managing data.  This role would be responsible for identifying reporting needs and creating custom reports across the reporting suite based on user needs.  It is not required that you know each of these applications when you start, what is more important is your ability to interpret and create complex SQL statements.    We have a data warehouse that acts as the hub of information exchange between several applications.  Knowledge of data warehouses is preferred, as is experience with data integrations and business intelligence systems.



Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree with a preferred field of study in Information Systems or Computer Science is preferred; equivalent experience is required otherwise
  • Strong understanding of SQL required with ability to write complex SQL code
  • Development experience using MS SQL and SSRS technologies
  • Experience with Pwer BI is preferred
  • Experience interacting with different database management systems. We primarily use SQL Server; other database technologies will be a part of our environment as well in the future.
  • Postgresql experience is preferred
  • Experience in customizing and integrating applications, preferably Real Estate applications, but comparable experience will be considered
  • Preferred background in Construction, Single Family, Multi-Family, and/or Commercial Property Management and/or Accounting
  • Experience with ETL
  • Knowledge of API’s, web services, SOAP, REST, XML, JSON
